Read MoreDC Water, which runs the sewer and tap water system in DC, is temporarily changing the disinfectant they use to keep the system clean between March 7th and May 2nd. The change from chloramine to chlorine will result in a different smell and taste for tap water. DC Water recommends running the cold water tap for approximately two minutes and refrigerating tap water to reduce the chlorine taste and odor. Probably a good idea to use a filter.

According to MPD, they arrested 33 year old Tremaine McDowell of Northwest DC. He was charged with three counts of Burglary One and one count of Burglary Two. Good work MPD!

I thought it would be a long meeting, and it ended up going right to the 9pm hard stop (the library closes at 9pm). A new Commissioner joined the ANC, Councilmember Brandon Todd spoke and answered questions, concerns about liquor licenses in 4C came up, as did about a bazillion Zoning issues and Gordon Banks, one of the owners of the upcoming Italian restaurant Little Coco’s, spoke about their upcoming outdoor seating.

Petworth Porchfest 2026 will feature more than 400 bands performing on over 150 porches. That’s a lot of free music within walking distance! This year, organizers have launched three new tools to explore the neighborhood and find the musicians, genres and porch locations for all the music and bands.
The Parks at Walter Reed has announced a packed calendar of events stretching from spring through late fall ensuring the Great Lawn and plaza remain the beating heart of Uptown. The calendar mixes free fitness classes, live music, cultural programming and fan-favorite markets. All events are free (or low-cost for fitness), all-ages and welcoming to all.
