That’s why Advisory Neighborhood Commission 4C is spearheading a Petworth Community Clean-Up on Saturday, April 29th from 10am-12pm. Each ANC 4C Commissioner plans to lead a clean-up effort in their SMD.

Come join your neighbors on Monday, January 16th at 10am to work in Grant Circle for an Martin Luther King, Jr Day of Service event. The goals are to pick up the trash that’s blown into the park recently, and to remove some of the English ivy vines growing in the planting beds.

Join Friends of Grant Circle this Sunday, April 2nd at 10 am to help keep Grant Circle looking great! Last year, we painted all the benches inside the Circle. This week we'll tackle the benches around the playground on the north side (5th and Webster). We'll deadhead the daffodils that have finished blooming and pickup trash as well.

A neighborhood is special because of the people who live there -- and it's made better by the people who help it thrive.
I came along Paul Montesano yesterday working on the median of New Hampshire Avenue with a rake and a pick-axe. Just one guy standing out in the middle of the road tearing up the weeds and grass.
"One person, a pick ax and five hours for a roughly 20 foot length of median," he said. "Hopefully this works out. Could be cool."

Local neighbor Carol Herwig is helping to mark Martin Luther King, Jr. day in Petworth with a weed and prune cleanup at Grant Circle on Monday, January 18, at 10 am. There is plenty of shrub pruning to be done, as well as ivy removal. Figure the work will take about 2 hours -- and your help is needed!
