Small Business Saturday offers Petworth some great local deals on Nov 24th

The Saturday after Thanksgiving is known as “small business Saturday,” and is an opportunity for residents to shop at their local retail businesses. (Hey, Obama came to Upshur Street Books in 2015 for small biz Saturday!)

This year I think we’re good if the current president stays put on his golf course, but YOU can head out and shop along Upshur Street and the Kennedy Street corridor. Here’s deets:

A flower shop and craft classroom is coming to Upshur Street

A flower and plant shop called She Loves Me will be opening at 808 Upshur Street in the next few months. The shop will sell flowers, plants and gifts, and will offer craft classes upstairs. The space had housed Philip's Shoe Repair for 51 years before the owners retired and the shop closed last November.
