ANC 4C10 Commissioner Jonah Goodman sent an email to the listservs on Saturday outlining the selection by DDOT for the newest Bikeshare location. DDOT has selected the 4200 block of Illinois Avenue NW, just south of Grant Circle, for the bikeshare. This selection process has had its share of drama since late 2018, and some residents along Illinois had protested their block being selected.

It's not just the roadway that is being replaced on Piney Branch Parkway. The DC Department of Transportation plans to update miles of bike and pedestrian pathways across the Rock Creek Park. This will impact vehicle access to Piney Branch Parkway, as DDOT plans to close Piney Branch Parkway to westbound traffic, maintaining eastbound traffic.Read More
Piney Branch Parkway, which runs from Arkansas Avenue NW down to Beach Drive, is terrible. The roadway doesn't have potholes, it has some random flat and smooth spots surrounded by gouges, bumps, crevices and canyons. Finally, the National Park Service is getting the road resurfaced, and it all starts on May 29th at 9am.Read More
The Sherman Circle transportation safety improvements are scheduled to begin on Monday, May 14th, with a goal of being complete by the end of the month, according to DC Department of Transportation (DDOT).
After a fair amount of publicity on the story and new proposed legislation by the DC Council, DDOT has decided it's time to stop charging Farmers' Markets exorbitant parking meter fees. This is a big win for the Petworth Community Farmers' Market, which thought it would be forced to close after this year.Read More
The Department of Transportation has announced their decision on changes to Sherman Circle. The original plan called for one lane of the Circle to be closed; however, they have decided to keep the two lane design with some minor modifications.Read More
