Read MoreA new art event joins the active line-up of community programs centered on the Petworth Park on Saturday, June 2nd from 4pm to 9pm. A brainchild of the Petworth Arts Collaborative (PAC), Petworth Arts Fest will feature various professional DC artists, live installations and performances to engage neighbors and our surrounding community through the arts. And they’re looking for volunteers to help make it happen!

I have always had less-than-ideal sleeping habits. As a child, my siblings would taunt me for falling asleep downstairs watching TV rather than going to my bed when I was sleepy. (That practice continues today.) I always fall asleep on the sofa and then wake up and stumble off to my bedroom. There are times I wake up in the wee hours of the morning and watch TV until I fall back to sleep and wake up at about 6AM. These practices do not promote a peaceful and restful sleep.
One morning, things got very bizarre and 911 had to be called.
Read MoreThe Security Camera Rebate program started two years ago after the DC Council passed the “Private Security Camera Incentive Program Emergency Act of 2016.” The program provides financial rebates to residents, businesses and churches who purchase outdoor security cameras and who make the recordings available to MPD upon request. Since the program started, DC has funded 10,000 cameras from 4,500 requests across the city, mainly to residents.
