October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and as a recent breast cancer survivor and Petworth neighbor, I thought now would be a good time to tell my story and raise awareness of this all too common disease.

Read MoreBrittany Kademian is getting ready to run the Boston marathon on April 18th in honor of those who are fighting cancer. Working with the “Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge” program, Brittany’s goal is to reach $10,000 in donations for cancer research and cancer care for those that need it most. Brittany is partnering with Petworth’s own Slash Run (201 Upshur St NW) to hold a fundraiser this Thursday, February 25th (5pm -12am).
