Mother’s Day is coming up on Sunday, May 13th. There are lots of ways to show your love for mom locally while supporting Petworth businesses. Here's some of the specials local businesses and organizations are offering:

Thursday, May 10th

Visit the Petworth Library (4200 Kansas Ave NW) for craft time at 4:30 pm. Geared for kids age 4-8, they will be making Mother's Day Cards in the 2nd Floor Children's Programming Room.

Saturday, May 12th

Looking for last minute gifts? Saturday will provide a lot of opportunities to shop.

Mimosas and discounts on jewelry at Willow.

Willow (843 Upshur St NW) will be having a Mother’s Day sidewalk sale with Mother's Day cards plus load of self-care products that would make great gifts! Upshur Books (827 Upshur St NW) is offering 50% off cookbooks and gardening books, as well as plenty of Mother's Day themed stationery. 

Fia's popular Fill-a-Bag sale is sure to please everyone!

Don’t forget our local Farmer’s Markets for flowers and gifts for mom. Petworth Market is now open and 14th & Kennedy Market will be featuring a new artist, Anita Merina, who will be selling her glasswork.

Sunday, May 13th

Celebrate mom on Sunday with bottomless mimosas for moms at The Homestead (3911 Georgia Ave NW).  

Pantry Thai/Sushi (3716 Georgia Ave NW) is offering moms a free drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) or dessert.

Pepperoni Chic loves catering!

Ordering in for Mom's Day? Pepperoni Chic (5111 Georgia Ave NW) is offering 13% off on May 13th on their catered meals, including baked pasta, roasted meat, grilled options, or a scrumptious treat. Get creative and take mom on a tour of Lincoln’s Cottage (140 Rock Creek Church Rd NW), located within the grounds of the Armed Forces Retirement Home. They’ll be running their regular scheduled tours, with some added Mother’s Day stories about Mary Lincoln.

Give mom the morning off for some self-care at Lighthouse Yoga Center (4203 9th St NW). They will be offering their usual Sunday classes (Level 1/Prenatal at 8:30am; Align and Flow at 10am; Kundalini at 11:30am.)

Highlands is offering 10% of proceeds on Mother's Day to help a student attend ballet school.

Support a local kid and make her mother proud! Highlands (4706 14th St NW) will be giving 10% of all Mother’s Day proceeds to support 7th grader Morgan Swann to attend the ballet program this summer at the prestigious Rock School of Dance in Philadelphia.
