Brief notes from the December ANC 4C meeting

The Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner 4C met on December 14th for a shorter than normal meeting to wrap up the 2015-2016 session. Commissioners Taalib-Din Uqdah and Vann-Di Galloway were not in attendance.

The PSA 407 meeting scheduled for Thursday, December 15th has been canceled.
Our next meeting will be in February after the holidays and Inauguration.
I have spoken to most of the usual attendees throughout the month and we have made great progress towards the quality of living in our PSA. PSA 407 is enjoying a double digit crime reduction thanks to the partnerships that we have established with you, the community.

The response to the "glad you're our neighbor" yard signs has been pretty amazing. When I posted to the blog we sold out. Then TV channels ran stories, and NPR did a national story. And we've been inundated with requests from across the country for signs.

A group of residents along the 4000 block of New Hampshire Avenue and the 500-700 block of Taylor Street have raised concerns about recent noise and shaking that they say is caused by Metro trains running beneath their homes.
The residents have put together a meeting with Ward 4 Councilmember Brandon Todd, ANC 4C08 Commissioner Timothy Jones and a WMATA representative to discuss the issue. They're meeting Monday, December 12th at 7pm at 801 Shepherd Street.

The Advisory Neighborhood Commission 4C meets on Wednesday, December 14th at 6:30pm at the Petworth Library (basement meeting room). Looks like a short meeting -- and it's the last meeting for this group of commissioners. Newly elected (and returning) commissioners will preside over the January 2017 meeting.
