Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner Karen Livingston (ANC 4C06) is hosting a Zoom call with DDOT to discuss community concerns around vehicle and pedestrian safety at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue, 7th and Taylor Streets NW.

The call is Thursday, January 11th at 7:30pm via Zoom. You can register to attend.

According to an email from Commissioner Livingston, “residents who live on these blocks have raised several traffic safety concerns, including car accidents damaging parked cars, frequent near-misses, speeding, and cars not stopping at intersections.”

ANC 4C submitted a resolution letter asking DDOT to make this intersection a priority back in July 2023. ANC 4C Commissioner Eric Heller proposed a series of steps to improve traffic safety, which were put forward by Councilmember Janeese Lewis George in a letter to DDOT.

“While this area is not yet a quarterly priority for DDOT, we can continue to educate and press for action,” writes Commissioner Livingston.

Collisions in the area in question are viewable on DC’s Open Data website. (You’ll need to select the correct date range.)

Register to attend via Zoom.
