It’s all about the neighborhood
The Friends of the Soldiers’ Home and the Armed Forces Retirement Home are hosting their annual Fall Fun Fest on Sunday, September 30th from 9am to 5pm at the AFRH. Come out to enjoy an antique auto show, music, an art show, petting zoo, bobbing for apple, a pumpkin carving competition and much more.
Read MoreRoosevelt High School has a robust international studies program, managed by Julian Hipkins III, the Global Studies Coordinator at the school. The school is hosting students from Spain and France in October, and is looking for a dozen or so families in the local area to host visiting students from France for a two week stay here in Petworth.

After studying the problem more closely, I knew something had to be done. I am proud to report that legislation I introduced in 2017 to improve maternal mental healthcare has recently become official law in the District of Columbia.
