I build websites for a living so I’m pretty good with getting things on my blog set up the way I want them. Petworth used to have a convenient post office at 4211 9th Street NW. It was shut down a couple of years ago, and stories about what was to come in that place were circulating. At one time I had heard it was to be a senior services center, but now we know what’s coming to the space.

Spring cleaning for old paint cans - drop 'em off for recycling!

PaintCare is back this spring with a unique cleaning event – an opportunity to drop off old paint cans free-of-charge at the Anacostia Recreation Center on Saturday, April 8. Regulations prevent homeowners and contractors from disposing of the paint via regular trash collection. But, thanks to DC’s Paint Stewardship Law, getting rid of that old paint just easy.

WTOP published a really interesting overview of the recent Federal Transportation Agency report on the status of the ongoing Metro repairs. FTA investigators have been closely monitoring WMATA and its employees as the SafeTrack process continues to work on existing defects in the metro system. One of the conclusions from the recent FTA report concerns the issue, first reported by Petworth News on December 13th, about the shaking and noise Petworth residents are experiencing since this summer.
