Shooting on the 4500 block of Illinois Ave, MPD investigating
/Update: Update on shooting on Illinois, sounds of gunshots on Decatur tonight (May 3, 2016)
There's a pretty significant MPD presence on the 4500 block of Illinois Avenue, between Allison and Buchanan Streets, after a man was found in his car suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, and as of right now, is still alive. (Update: the victim succumbed to his wounds.)

No other details yet, except that there apparently were no 911 calls about a gunshot, and no emails across the listserv as yet. MPD is canvassing.
Assistant Chief Groomes is on the scene, as is PSA Lt Washington and a number of other MPD senior officers.
There is a garage taped off on Allison but unsure why.
If/when I found out more, I'll share.
