Get ready for Petworth's new "Dog Days of Summer" event on September 6th
/Get ready to enjoy Petworth in the Park: Dog Days of Summer, a new community celebration coming on Saturday, September 6th!
This fun afternoon event features the always popular Petworth Dog Show & Contest hosted by Drew Schneider, great live music for kids and grown ups (including favorites from Petworth PorchFest), and fun lawn games and activities for residents of all ages. Plus, everyone gets to enjoy food specials and retail promotions by businesses on the 800 block of Upshur Street. 🍔 👗🍦🍹
🕒 Kids’ music and activities start at 3pm
🕒 Dog Show takes place at 4pm
🕒 Main stage music kicks off at 5pm until 8pm
🗓️ Dog Days of Summer will be at the Petworth Park at 8th and Taylor Streets NW from 3-8pm (rain date September 7th). 🗓️
The Celebrate Petworth Festival is on hiatus this year (the organizers are taking a breather, considering the cost and effort involved in putting on the huge street festival). After getting feedback from the neighborhood, the Uptown Community Initiative has put together other events throughout the year to help us celebrate Petworth and our great neighborhood.
This furbulously fashioned pup can win any and all prizes.

Like always, these community events take time and money to happen. Thanks to our Petworth Main Street committee members and event sponsor Eddie Suarez, Realtor and Petworth Dog Show sponsor District Veterinary Hospital. Support from DC Main Streets/DSLBD and Timber Pizza were instrumental in making this event possible.
