When I was going through a tough time, Cinder stepped up to be there to help. This year, when my Dad passed away, I mentioned that I wanted to do something at Cinder but I didn’t know what. If you don’t know about our group, we are a small, all volunteer 501(c)(3) that works to beautify the public green spaces in Petworth and adjoining neighborhoods. Kerry and Matt Hamblin bought their 1915 rowhouse on the 3800 block of 4th Street NW in 2007 and spent the next decade and a half restoring it. Throughout their rowhouse is a mixture of modern functionality and history. Matt, an architect, refurbished most of the house himself.
