Like in previous years, Theodore Roosevelt High School will be hosting a number of students from other countries who will be attending Roosevelt for several weeks this fall. The school is looking for local host families for the French and Polish students to stay with temporarily during their short time in DC.

This is a great opportunity to help a young person experience a new country, and your own family to experience a new culture. Here are the schools/students and the dates they will be shadowing students at Roosevelt:

  • Institut Saint Dominque in Pau, France: We need host families for 7 students (ages 16-17) and 1 teacher.
Dates: Friday, October 20th to Tuesday, October 31st, 2023.

  • XV Secondary School in Warsaw, Poland: We need host families for 8 students.
Dates: Wednesday, November 29th to Friday, December 8th, 2023.

The responsibilities of the host families include providing dinner during the week and meals on the weekend, taking part in activities on the weekend (either organized by the host family or exchange program chaperone), and answering any questions about DC and/or the United States in general.

If you are interested in serving as a host family, please fill out the volunteer form.

Thank you to everyone that has already agreed to host a student or teacher:
