REI hosts free outdoor activities, including free BikeShare

The outdoor sports and recreation store REI contacted me to share a press release that I think is pretty cool. REI is opening a new "flagship" store at the Uline Arena in Northeast DC, and to celebrate is holding a "United Outside" campaign to give DC residents a chance to enjoy the great outdoors through 100 days of outdoor events.

REI will kick it off with a free weekend of adventures on July 16 and 17, including:
• Thousands of free Capital Bikeshare rentals across the Greater D.C. area
• Free kayak and standup paddleboard rentals on the Potomac
• Free entry to C&O Canal at Great Falls Tavern, MD, one of the most iconic national historic parks, with 184.5 miles of hiking and biking trails

Check out their United Outside website to see if there's an event that interests you. With so many to choose from, I'm guessing you'll find something groovy.
