Fish in the Hood burgled early this morning

Fish in the Neighborhood

Fish in the Hood (3601 Georgia Avenue NW) was burgled Friday morning around 7am.

According to owner Bill White, who has video of the incident, a white or Latino male was seen pacing back and forth in front of the restaurant, staring inside the front windows.

He then picked up a brick and threw it through a front window, where he gained entry. He attempted to steal a tip container full of cash and change, only to find it secured to the floor.

He managed to get some money out before he ran. A neighbor outside on the street witnessed the man break the window and called police.

White said that while not much was taken, it’s still unsettling.

If you want to help the restaurant, stop by and grab dinner. It’s delicious, and you’ll help them cover the cost of repairs and loss of tip cash.
