There's a new date for Celebrate Petworth, chance to get involved

The Celebrate Petworth festival is usually the first week of June, but this year it has been moved to the Fall to accommodate schedules, permits, etc. This year's festival looks to be bigger, with more food, more stages and hopefully beautiful Fall weather.

There are two main concerns expressed about DC Superior Courts taking ownership of the old Petworth post office at 4211 9th Street NW, specifically its location close to the burgeoning Upshur Street retail and restaurants, and the lack of communication with the community about the facility.

The park is heavily used by the community, from kids having a great time in the spray park in the summer and playing on the playground almost year round, while the grassy area is used for soccer and other outdoor activities, including the summertime Petworth Jazz Project.
