It’s all about the neighborhood
The end of May 2019 makes Petworth News four years old! This site was started on a fluke, and quickly became something of value to the community — which I’m extremely grateful for. This month we were named Best Community Blog (2nd Place!) for the fourth year in a row, and just hit 4,00 Likes on Facebook. Time for a party!

It’s easy, Kathleen says, because the DC Government makes it easy! Under the city’s Zero Waste DC program, there are compost drop-offs at farmer’s markets in all eight Wards. Materials accepted there include fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds and tea, grains, beans, cereals, eggshells, and cut and dried flowers. Just drop off your food waste every Saturday from 9am to 1pm and be on your way.
