President Lincoln’s Cottage, located on the grounds of the Armed Forces Retirement Home off of Rock Creek Church Road, is offering a chance to win 4 tickets to attend one of their latest socially-distanced tours!

Available tours you could win…

Explore the historic landscape surrounding President Lincoln’s Cottage in their unique, guided outdoor experiences offered for the first time as part of their daily public programming. (Note that the interior of the Cottage remains closed to protect the community.)

  • Storytelling on the South Lawn: Inspired by Lincoln’s own penchant for storytelling at the Cottage, the museum’s guides will draw upon the history of the Cottage to tell stories about the important legacy that President Lincoln created there, including the development of the Emancipation Proclamation.

  • National Cemetery Tour: Located just two hundred yards from the front of the Cottage, the US Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home National Cemetery holds incredible significance to President Lincoln’s time at the Cottage. This tour will illuminate the lives of the thousands of men and women buried in one of the country’s oldest National Cemeteries.

The National Cemetery tour tells the history of our heroes.

Remember that a haiku is a poem of three lines, made up 5 syllables in the first line, 7 syllables in the second, and 5 syllables in the third line. Here’s two examples…
