Volunteer for the Uptown Pride event in June!

The inaugural "Uptown Pride" event is happening on June 10th celebrating Pride Month in Petworth and Brightwood, and organizers are looking for volunteers to help with the event. Uptown Pride will be at the intersection of 14th Streets, Colorado Avenue and Kennedy Streets NW near Morelands, Second Wind and the Farmers Market.

Sign up to volunteer!
Volunteers can assist with planning the event, organizing, helping with vendors, or just working to make sure the day goes smoothly.

The festival runs from 2pm-7pm and they will need volunteers before, during and after. They need everything from standard greeter/flyer-passer-outers to people with awesome special skills like helping with kids activities, crowd control, and more. Let them know what you want to help with! (And volunteers get a unique t-shirt as thanks!)

The lineup of events are being finalized, but you’ll see:

  • Drag storytime with Tara Hoot

  • LGBTQ+ & allies Makers Market

  • 2 DJ's for all kinds of music

  • Morelands Beer Garden

  • Yoga with Lighthouse Yoga

  • Children’s activities

  • Captain Cookie

All proceeds raised from the day raised will go to the Trevor Project.

Edit: Fixed a location typo.
