After successfully reopening during the Stay-at-Home orders and transitioning to delivery and pick-up, both Timber Pizza and Cinder BBQ are closing due to employees testing positive for COVID-19.

Both restaurants are located on the 800 block of Upshur Street, almost across the street from each other. The recent positive tests are unrelated, according to the restaurants.

Timber Pizza posted a notice to Instagram just after noon on Wednesday, May 6th, and Cinder posted a notice around 4:30 that same afternoon.

Both restaurants have said they will be bringing in professional cleaning companies to thoroughly disinfect their restaurants with hopes of reopening in the near future. Meanwhile, they will be getting COVID testing for their all their employees.

According to DC’s coronavirus tracking website, Ward 4 has the largest number of cases in DC with over 1,000 people testing positive.

Clearly, we are not out of the woods. Stay home and if you have to go out, wear a mask!

Three cheers for everyone working right now to help make life easier during the pandemic.
