Magpie and the Tiger, the Korean restaurant run by Chef Caleb Jang and owned by Kevin Tien, is set to open this month. However, with COVID-19 cases reaching historic highs in the DC area, the establishment has been forced to make some adjustments. On Wednesday, January 5th, a beloved DMV eatery will set up shop in the space, Hot Lola’s, Tien’s famous Sichuan-Nashville hot chicken restaurant. Magpie and the Tiger opens soon on Upshur Street

The location is re-opening with Himitsu’s chefs at the helm. Chef Caleb Jang, Himitsu’s sous chef, will be the executive chef of Magpie and The Tiger, the new restaurant coming to the spot. Kevin Tien, the executive chef of Himitsu — as well as Moon Rabbit and Emilie’s — is the owner of the new spot.
