Their press release is below:

On Saturday, December 10th, Annie’s Ace Hardware will host Sticks+Bars Youth Marimba Ensemble at its Petworth store located at 1240 Upshur St NW. Led by Premila Mistry, Sticks+Bars is comprised of DC youths in grades 5-12 from public, private, home and charter schools. By performing the lively, get-up-and-dance music of Zimbabwe, the band encourages its instrumentalists to experience the joy that comes with live musical performance.

Annie’s Ace Hardware has been a proud supporter of Sticks+Bars, providing the group with unusual “musical instruments,” such as metal trashcans. The performance is scheduled for 11am-noon on Saturday, 12/10. We hope that you will join us to see and hear this energetic, dynamic group perform.

Plus, while you are here at Annie’s consider picking up your live Christmas tree or garland, holiday lights and stocking stuffers for the whole family!
