Shop at Safeway this month and they'll donate to Roosevelt High School

Roosevelt High School is teaming up with the Safeway Foundation’s third annual School Spirit campaign to help raise funds on behalf of Roosevelt.

When you shop at the Petworth Safeway (3830 Georgia Ave NW) funds raised by customers will be donated to Roosevelt via the Foundation. (Funds may be used for school supplies or projects.)

Plus, DC Public Schools is throwing a free Back to School Block Party on Saturday, September 14th. This three-hour party will welcome students, parents, teachers, school administration, and community members to start off the new school year. There will be free food and fun activities for all ages including a moon bounce, mini-golf course, parkour course, and student performances. You can RSVP for the block party on EventBrite (free).

The School Spirit campaign goes from August 1st until August 31st at over a 100 Safeway stores in Maryland, Virginia, DC and Delaware. Throughout the month of August, customers and neighbors can “support their local schools” by making a monetary donation at local Safeways.

So go shopping — and remember to tip Roosevelt a little extra change!
