/Update on Grant Circle Historic Landmark status: Looks like the local neighborhood effort to protect the homes and buildings around Grant Circle was successful.
Commissioner Joe Martin emailed that "This morning the Historic Preservation Review Board unanimously voted their 'intent to nominate' Grant Circle as a historic district.
"The motion that passed exempted St. Gabriel's Church and buildings on its 'campus' while Board members encouraged Father Avelino Gonzalez, the pastor, and the parish to consider pursuing historic landmark status for the Church's property."
Looks like the local neighborhood effort to protect the styles of homes and buildings around Grant Circle was successful.
