New Year's Eve ball-drop at Sherman Circle ... at 7pm

For the past few years, Chris and Curtis at 1 Sherman Circle NW have decorated their house for all kinds of holidays. For New Year’s they put a lighted ball up on their flagpole, and count down the New Year.
This year, Petworth's own version of Times Square will kick off the NYE festivities with a ball drop at 7pm, perfect for families. They suggest people gather in front of their house at 6:50pm for the count down at 7pm. They’ll have noisemakers, photo props and ball.
Right now, there’s no plans for a midnight ball drop, so you’re on your own for midnight fun.
Join President Lincoln’s Cottage on September 19, from 10am to 2pm, for their free annual Homecoming celebration inspired by the Lincoln family’s time living on the grounds of the Soldiers’ Home, here in the Petworth neighborhood.
