Sneak peek of Menya Hosaki, set to open on Wednesday 9/9

Eric and Stephanie Yoo, owners of Menya Hosaki

Menya Hosaki, the new ramen restaurant at 845 Upshur St NW, is getting ready to open their doors to the neighborhood on Wednesday, September 9th. They’re doing a few practice nights with friends and family this week, getting ready for next week.

The restaurant will be open for lunch from 11:30am until 2:30pm, then reopen for dinner from 5pm until 9pm, Tuesday through Saturday. They’re closed on Sundays and Mondays.

You’ll be able to order pickup or limited dining on the back outside patio (socially distanced). When you pickup or get delivery, the restaurant will provide directions on how to heat up and mix the ramen meal so it’s as close to in-store dining.

The “Triple Threat” ramen take-out on my kitchen counter…

I was able to get dinner during the preview period, and it was delicious. The ramen has the right consistency, the soup is delicious, the meat flavorful, the bamboo so soft and yet firm, and the egg was tender with an oh-so creamy yolk.

Definitely a welcome new restaurant for Petworth and DC. Check them out starting Wednesday, 9/9!
