DC Libraries go to curbside pickup, Petworth & Shepherd Park included

Petworth Library

While some libraries are closed due to Covid, other DC Libraries are open for curbside transactions so residents can still take advantage of services.

Libraries will be open for limited curbside service for picking up holds, returning items, getting a library card, picking up a print job and checking out Grab n’ Go items. Each library will be open from 10am – 2pm and 3pm – 6pm with a daily closing from 2-3pm for cleaning.

You can request materials for take-out service by calling a Library location, visiting dclibrary.org to use the catalog or the chat service. Library staff will work with the customer to schedule a pickup location.

Also, you can check out eBook versions of books and put them on your Kindle or other ereader by visiting Overdrive and logging in with your DC Library card number. (I check out Kindle books all the time this way, it’s an awesome service.)

Public computers will not be available. Reading and meeting rooms will remain closed. Additionally, restrooms are not available during this phase. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Visit the following libraries for Takeout Services: Anacostia, Bellevue, Benning, Capitol View, Chevy Chase, Cleveland Park, Francis A. Gregory, Georgetown, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Mt. Pleasant, Northeast, Palisades, Petworth, Shaw, Shepherd Park, Tenley-Friendship, West End and Woodridge libraries.
