Read MoreBill White is an awesome guy. I first met him several years ago at his restaurant Fish in the Neighborhood on Georgia Avenue in Park View. Known as “Fish in the Hood,” the restaurant is one of the best places in DC to get fresh seafood. The popular restaurant has gone through ups and downs, a fire, issues with his landlord and still has stayed open to serve the community.
Bill is in the hospital with a lung infection and collapsed lung, and doesn’t have insurance. His step-mother has organized a GoFundMe to help cover costs.

Three miles of Georgia Avenue — between Barry Place NW and Missouri Avenue — will be closed to cars. Instead, residents can walk, bike, run and scooter in the street. It’ll be the first of a series of Open Streets events that will be held across all eight wards in 2021-2022.
