Introduction
I reside in Petworth with a multi-generational family that includes a toddler and a septuagenarian parent. I work on equitable development, environmental and racial justice policies for an area nonprofit organization.

What's a hobby or something fun that you are interested in?
Practitioner of Capoeira Angola, an African/Brazilian folklore and martial art form. Chess Player. I serve as VP on the Parent Teacher Association of DC Bilingual. Board member of Community Mediation DC.

What are your qualifications?
A broad set of life and professional experiences. An inclination and openness to learn of the civic institutional memory of Petworth. I believe this understanding is critical and can inform our approach to meeting our contemporary community challenges. Deep listening skills, empathy, passion, and a sense of fairness also are important requisites in my view.

What are the ANC meetings?
2nd Wednesdays of each month, only virtually.

Are you going to hold SMD meetings?
As issues (often) arise, I'll hold community meetings. Over the past two years this has included a broad set of stakeholders in Petworth such as: District agencies, social service organizations, tenant associations, homeowner associations, local businesses, civic associations, neighbor block associations and religious organizations.

Do you attend other meetings?
I am active in regular Department of Behavorial Health meetings and substance abuse mitigation actions (public awareness events, interdictions, outreach) that focus on the overdose crisis raging throughout the District of Columbia, in Ward 4 and in Petworth.

Paul’s Priorities
Fair and equal representation for all sectors of our community are my high priorities. I am especially passionate about elevating the voices of marginalized groups and those with less agency. Further, accountability, transparency and meaningful, equitable community engagement are values I stand up for on ANC 4C.

I want to thank you all for your civic participation. And encourage us all to lift up the many positive aspects of our dynamic community.
