Holiday Lights comes to the Petworth area and across DC

This year, the District has a little extra sparkle for the holiday season. From November 18th to January 8th, residents are invited to take a stroll down each of the fourteen participating corridors to experience a dazzling array of lights and decor, enjoy holiday promotions, and shop local.

Between November 18th and December 11th, the public can cast their vote online for their favorite holiday display on each corridor — as well as cast a vote for the corridor they think should take home the title of “Best of DC.” Last year, the “Best of DC” honor went to Uptown Main Street. The winners will be announced during the DC Holiday Lights Award Ceremony on December 14, 2022 at Hook Hall (ticket information will be available on the DCHolidayLights.org in November).

As part of DC Holiday Lights, the public is also invited to participate in the DC Holiday Lights Scavenger Hunt, kicking off on Black Friday (November 25). Participants earn entries for each participating commercial corridor they visit between November 25 and January 8, as well as by finding secret codes at businesses across DC. The more entries they earn, the more likely they are to win great prizes from local businesses all across the District. Residents can sign up online to be notified when it goes live.
