Petworth local Sarah Gabriel has been spearheading a program for a few years that has neighbors make holiday cards for residents of the Armed Forces Retirement Home. Local businesses are participating in the Lower Georgia Ave Main Street Holiday Lights event December 1st through the 31st to decorate their storefronts with lights and competing for awards. The resulting light show will include businesses along lower Georgia Avenue and the 800 block of Upshur Street.
