Holy moly, these desserts look good! A new mother-daughter team are trying out their Burmese dessert concept at a pop-up in Park View at EatsPlace (3607 Georgia Avenue NW) at the end of January. Called Toli Moli!, the new pop-up is the passion of Chef Jocelyn (JoJo) Law-Yone and her daughter, Simone Jacobson, and will open on Saturday, January 30th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Local neighbor Carol Herwig is helping to mark Martin Luther King, Jr. day in Petworth with a weed and prune cleanup at Grant Circle on Monday, January 18, at 10 am. There is plenty of shrub pruning to be done, as well as ivy removal. Figure the work will take about 2 hours -- and your help is needed!

DCPS Chancellor to discuss Roosevelt high school at MacFarland tonight

Roosevelt High School has been going through major renovations, with plans to open in August 2016. There's been ANC and community pushback to open earlier and allow high schooler's to start in January. 

As one Roosevelt teach said to me, "I think it's really important the community comes out and has their voice heard." If you're interested in hearing what DCPS is planning on doing, this meeting is for you.
