Celebrate the holidays on December 4th from 5-6:30pm with friends and neighbors as a 20-foot tree and 12-foot Hanukkah menorah are lit to brighten the new Arts Plaza at The Parks at Walter Reed. Enjoy a choir singing holiday tunes, warm up with hot beverages, fire pits, s’mores and tasty treats for kids and grown-ups at the Holiday Celebration at The Parks.

This fun streetscape decorations will be in 14 unique commercial corridors with hundreds of businesses signed up to decorate their storefronts. Residents and visitors are invited to pursue the streets, soak in the razzle and dazzle of the season, and participate in a scavenger hunt, all while hopefully shopping small to support our local businesses.

Three miles of Georgia Avenue — between Barry Place NW and Missouri Avenue — will be closed to cars. Instead, residents can walk, bike, run and scooter in the street. It’ll be the first of a series of Open Streets events that will be held across all eight wards in 2021-2022.
