Cinder BBQ is opening for a special "pop-up" this weekend to test things out, and you're invited

Time to try some Cinder BBQ…

Just got word that Cinder BBQ at 800 Upshur Street NW is opening for a special tasting this Saturday and Sunday, and they’re inviting neighbors to come by and try out the good stuff. It’s not an official opening, not yet. That’s coming soon.

Starting Saturday from 5pm until… “the food runs out,” Cinder will be cooking up some samples of their menu and training new staff. Sunday also starts at 5pm.

For $10, you get two entrees and one side, along with a beer (or non-alcoholic drink). The bar will likewise be open for drinks so you can sample one of their 100 different whiskies, or grab a cocktail or glass (or two) of wine. (According to Chef Bill Coleman, the sides being offered at the pop-up are vegetarian.)

Smoked wings

There’s only enough seating for 40 plates, so it’s first-come, first-served. (I’ll fight ya for the brisket! I’ve had it, and it’s delish!)

The menu looks like:

  • Saturday: Pulled pork sliders and wings, slaw, and a Founder's Solid Gold lager.

  • Sunday: Brisket sliders and pulled chicken sliders, bourbon peach baked beans and a Founder's Solid Gold lager.

Updates will posted to their Facebook page (as well as Twitter and Instagram).

See you there!

*Update 3/20: Menu updated.
