Art All Night comes to 14th and Kennedy and Georgia Ave on Friday Sept 24th & Sat 25th

DC is kicking off its Art All Night events citywide on Friday night, September 24th starting at early at 5pm, with most kicking off around 7pm, and our area has a bunch of activations to entertain you. Uptown Main Street along the 14th Street and Kennedy Street corridor and Upper Georgia Avenue Main Street along Georgia Avenue offer a wide selection of art, food and more. It’s a pretty full schedule of events.

Here’s some highlights from Uptown Main Street (and you can see a map):

  • Anafre, Habanero, Red Derby, Lyman's Tavern, DC Corazon, Little Coco's and Chicatana on 14th Street will host mariachis and R&B vinyl spins

  • Live mural painting at Quincy & 14th by Jah One

  • Spanish & Latin ballads (and a DJ) outside Atxondo

  • Dance, fire & bubbles by the Dance Loft on 14th

  • Style Wars documentary at the Graffiti Museum

  • Indy music at Morelands Tavern

  • Jazz & Funk at HR Records on Kennedy Street

  • Artisan market at La Coop

  • Pop fusion outside of Jackie Lee’s

  • Comics, books and spoken word poetry at Queen Bee Book Emporium & Cafe

  • Photography and art projections on both 14th and Kennedy Streets

Then Upper Georgia Avenue has four Art All Night activations along Georgia Avenue on Saturday, September 25th

  • Arts & culture walk featuring live jazz at Nile Ethiopian Restaurant, visual arts and harpist at Tomoka Coffee House, tours at the HBCU Museum, a lineup of Women, Jewish, Black, and LGBTQ poets and open mic led by Huffington Post contributor and founder of Day Eight Robert Bettmann at Shepherd Park (Juanita E. Thornton) Library, Zenith Gallery pop-up and mobile woodshop at PS2G, candlemaker at DC Urban Living and more in the 7300-7800 blocks of Georgia Avenue, NW.

  • African cultural bands and ping pong tournament in the 6400 block of Georgia Avenue, NW.

  • Family-friendly comedy talk show led by Brandon Wetherbee, who has performed at the Kennedy Center and was featured in Washingtonian Magazine, at the Emory Fellowship United Methodist Church, 6100 Georgia Avenue, NW.

  • Latin American cultural bands with art and retail vendors at the Fourth District MPD Station, 6001 Georgia Avenue, NW.
