The Park View bookstore, Walls of Books, celebrates its one year anniversary on Saturday, February 18th. Amazing that a year has gone by, and awesome that the book store continues to do well.

Owner Pablo Sierra reached out to say they are throwing a party at the store to celebrate from 1pm - 4pm, with a their popular story hour at 2pm. There will be raffles held all day, some tasty cake and other food and drink. And of course, books.

“We can’t believe it’s been a year – we’ve made it and are still moving forward," Pablo said. "But really, the past year’s success is due to several things out of my control and extremely grateful for [them]."

"We have the best storytellers in the city – John Ray and Paige O’Malley – who pack the house Wednesday’s and Saturdays with little ones," Pablo said. "James Cullum’s great pics and social media content that brings people into the store, both physically and digitally, and solid social and business relationships."

Walls of Books has deals with other local businesses like the Midlands (bring a receipt from Walls of Books and get a $1 off your first draft), Heat Da Spot provides great coffee "and moral support" on Saturdays, and Georgia Avenue Thrive, with whom they teamed up with for a book club. "They're helping us to get smart on some of the pressing issues facing our community. And ultimately, the community – who have showed up and supported us since that cold Day 1 in February in a dreary parking lot!"
