Draft agenda for ANC 4D September meeting

The next Advisory Neighborhood Commission 4D public meeting is on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 6:30pm

This is a special day due to Jewish holidays next week. ANC 4D meetings will get back to regular schedule on the third Tuesday of every month in October.

ANC 4D hosts their meetings at the Washington Latin Public Charter School, 5200 2nd Street, NW.

ANC 4D Commissioner Amy Hemingway writes, “We are pleased to have confirmed Deputy Mayor Donahue to discuss the status of NEAR Act implementation. You may remember that previous speakers have included Del McFadden, Executive Director of the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, and Greg Montross of The Stop Police Terror Project.  We heard various status updates that sometimes didn't align so we invited the Deputy Mayor to address outstanding questions from commissioners and the community on this. Please see the DC government NEAR Act page and the open letter Montross's group sent on the NEAR Act.

We also heard from many of you that the current state of play on Initiative 77 is of interest to you so we have invited both sides of this debate to our meeting. So far we have confirmed Diana Ramirez who represents those that wish to see Initiative 77 become law having passed as a ballot initiative in June. There is an effort in Council to repeal the initiative. As such, the Committee of the Whole is hosting a hearing on the matter on Monday and 150 people have signed up to testify so this is a hot issue. Check out the latest from the Washington City Paper.
