New cigar bar coming to Petworth

A recent notice from the Alcohol Beverage Control Board (ABRA) says that a new bar is coming to the Upshur area in Petworth, focusing on cigars as well as drinks.
The ABRA filing states that "Petworth Cigars" is applying for an alcohol license at 4203 Georgia Avenue NW for a "cigar retailer serving spirits, wine, and beer in addition to tobacco products and other cigar-related products." This is the empty "Beauty Salon" space to the left of Slim's Diner at the corner of Upshur and Georgia Avenue.
According to the ABRA notice, the bar is looking to establish a Class "C" Tavern permit, offering 80 seats inside and a "summer garden" of 10 seats. They are also looking for an indoors-only entertainment endorsement for live music inside the bar.
The proposed hours are Sunday – Wednesday, 10am – 12am, Thursday – Saturday, 10am – 2am, serving alcohol Sunday – Saturday, 10am – 11pm. The live music (indoors only) is proposed to be Sunday – Wednesday 4pm – 12am, Thursday – Saturday 6pm – 2am.
This location has been vacant for a decade or more, and many have inquired about using the space for anything from kids' clothes to pet supplies. Looks like it's going to be a bar you can smoke in.
The ABRA placard should go up on the window on the 24th.
