Want to help clean up SW Petworth? Join the planning meeting on April 29th

The triangular park at Quincy & 13th Street NW

New ANC 4C Commissioner Bennet Hilley sent out an email to the SW Petworth listserv, suggesting neighbors get together at the end of April to plan a neighborhood clean up and beautification day. Here's Bennett's message:

Hi everyone,

Several neighbors have expressed an interest in having a neighborhood clean-up/beautification day this spring, so let's do it!

  • Date: Saturday, April 29th
  • Time: 12:45-3:00pm
  • Where:  Meeting spot is at the triangle park (where 13th, Kansas, and Quincy intersect).

Please be at the triangle by 12:45pm so we can break-off into smaller groups, grab tools and trash bags, and head off to clean by 1:00.

If you're interested in volunteering, please sign up on this google document here  by next Saturday, April 15.  We'll base the size of the clean-up area and the number of clean-up toolkits and amount of mulch we'll get from DPW on the number of volunteers we have who sign up.

If you'd prefer to let me know you'd like to volunteer over the phone, please give me a call at 202-750-0481 or if you think you're a 'maybe,' please sign up as well, but please make a note in the comments column.

Thanks,
Bennett Hilley
