Local music gets a boost at the DC Music Rocks festival at the 9:30 Club

Check out the DC Music Rocks Festival at the 9:30 Club!

This upcoming show sounds awesome. DC Music Rocks, which profiles local DC musicians and bands on 96.7FM and via podcast, is holding its first local music festival at the 9:30 Club on Saturday, September 2nd. And hey, Petworth News is one of the sponsors!

The show features The Split SecondsThrowing PlatesStone DriverHayley Fahey MusicThaylobleu

Tickets are only $15 and are available online at TicketFly.

I previously wrote about DC Music Rocks last August and the work they do to showcase the local music scene. Run by Brian Nelson-Palmer, DC Music Rocks launched in July 2016 to share great music by bands from the DC area, playing music from various popular genres created by and played by local bands.

The DC Music Rocks show airs on WERA 96.7FM on Tuesdays at 5pm and can be streamed live from the station’s website. Brian often streams artist interviews on Facebook Live. You can find the show on podcast on their website, subscribe via iTunes or via Google PlayPocket Casts, or any podcast service or app you prefer by using their podcast RSS link

I'll have a quick follow-up article with Brian soon!
