Alfie’s opens on Tuesday & it’s great

The new Thai / Southeast Asian restaurant by Food Network Star chef Alex McCoy and his partners Marc Dosik and Hunter Campbell, is ready to go. They had a soft launch party last night, and the food and the drink, unsurprisingly, are great. It’s just not on Upshur Street, not yet anyway.

I stopped by Alfie’s early in the day to talk with Hunter Campbell and Alex McCoy about the upcoming opening, and their plans for the Mothership and Upshur locations.

Local DC chef and Food Network Star finalist Alex McCoy is opening up a Southeast Asian-themed restaurant with business partners Hunter Campbell (who owns Mason Inn restaurant in Glover Park) and local real estate agent Marc Dosik from Help-U-Sell.

Thai/Balinese Restaurant coming to Upshur St

Looks like Upshur Street between 8th & 9th Streets continues its growth as a restaurant row. Word is that a group is looking to open a Thai / Balinese restaurant at 845 Upshur St NW, where the closed China American Inn is now.

They hope to open in Fall 2015. I'll try to get more info.
