Fish in the Hood re-opens a year and a half after the fire

Santana Shabazz poses with Bill White, owner of Fish in the Neighborhood.

Got an email from Sarah Sorscher, a neighbor in Park View who has been diligently working to help the Fish in the Hood raise funds after their April 2017 fire. According to Sarah, the restaurant has officially opened — a soft opening for the moment. Looking forward to an official grand re-opening celebration!

I'm please to share Fish in the Hood is now in a soft open! They opened the doors without any fanfare on Wednesday and had an immediate flood of walk-in customers grateful to see them back in business.

They hope to be open M-Sa 11:30am - 9pm (a bit later on Fridays).

There are no regular hours on Sundays.

[Owner Bill White] is very grateful for the crowdfunding and support from the community, and sent out this update earlier today:

We are very happy to announce we are back open! We want to express the biggest thank you to those who helped us get across the finish line. It meant so much to us to know the community was here supporting us and rooting for us to come back. We love all the people of this community and hope to reach a point where we can directly give back and be deserving of all we've received. Thank you, thank you, thank you! :)

I hope everyone will go out and get some delicious fish in the coming weeks, but please be patient if things are busy! Bill said they are still training some new employees and working out kinks, but are doing their best to keep up with demand.
