Get your lederhosen, you're invited to "Blocktoberfest" on Randolph Street

It’s time to celebrate Oktoberfest just like Germans do, but in your own Petworth neighborhood!

There is no better time than the present to enjoy some gemutlichkeit while meeting members of the community over a good beer. Come join the Randolph Block Club this Saturday, October 14th from 4 pm to 10 pm for their Second Annual Blocktoberfest on the 500-600 block of Randolph Street NW. There will be beer, music, food and a lot of neighbors out having fun.

Enjoy a nice fall Saturday savoring delicious Kielbasas while sampling German and microbrews. Don’t forget to put on your Lederhosen and Dirndl to celebrate the traditional Bavarian culture!

Admission is free and for all age groups; adult beverages for adults and games and activities for kids. DC DPR will be providing a bouncy house, giant chess, and a climbing wall for all to enjoy. Starting at 7 pm, Take Cover! will provide live music for the crowd to groove to some classic
music.

It's free, but they ask that you RSVP on Eventbrite so the Randolph Block Club can provide enough food and beverages for the evening.

You can use #PTWBlocktoberfest if you upload pictures on social media.

Blocktoberfest was started as a backyard Oktoberfest by a block resident for friends and neighbors who love a good German Brew.  Over years the crowd started getting larger and the backyard smaller. This is when the idea of a grassroots Petworth Blocktoberfest emerged.  The fest has transformed from one person planning and hosting to the block neighbors volunteering their time to host the block party. The block club is also raising money for a local charity, Changing Perceptions, so donations will be collected.
